ROICA™ Debuts at Performance Days: Innovation Meets Sustainability

ROICA™, the premium stretch fiber by Asahi Kasei, made its highly anticipated debut at Performance Days this October. As the sports apparel industry evolves rapidly, ROICA™ showcased advanced functionality, reliable performance, and sustainable innovation.

A New Chapter for ROICA™

This inaugural participation allows ROICA™ to introduce its superior performance and unique value to a broader audience of sportswear professionals. The brand emphasizes three key pillars:

At Hall A2, Booth R09, ROICA™ presented a curated selection of innovations and collaborations. These exhibits highlight its role as a creative enabler in the textile industry.

Meet ROICA™’s European Partners

Cifra – Hall A2, Booth Q03


Cifra, known as the “warp knit centre of excellence,” showcased WKS (Warp Knit Seamless) technology in collaboration with Wolford. Designed for yoga, pilates, and athleisure, these sustainable pieces combine ROICA™ V550 with ECONYL® for durability, comfort, and style.

Inplet Pletiva – Hall A1, Booth J04


Slovenia-based Inplet Pletiva presented elastic and rigid knitted fabrics, including Powernet, Tricot, and Tulle, enhanced with ROICA™ V550. These eco-conscious fabrics incorporate recycled fibers, bamboo, and elastane. Additionally, the designs offer multi-directional stretch, breathability, and chlorine resistance. OEKO-TEX and GRS certifications ensure high sustainability standards.

Penn Solutions – Hall A1, Booth C06


Combining Italian creativity with German engineering, Penn Solutions introduced Tricot and Lace fabrics with ROICA™ V550. The collection features engineered panels, breathable zones, and two-way stretch. Moreover, swimwear and lace fabrics offer versatility and elegance. Certifications include OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100, HIGG, ZDHC, and GRS, reinforcing environmental responsibility.

Sitip – Hall A1, Booth E14-15


Sitip utilized ROICA™ fibers to develop technical fabrics emphasizing elasticity, comfort, and performance. Highlights include Blizzard Thermal Comfort, Native-Blizzard K2, Breeze with Eclipse Sun Protection, and Force PLX Light. Importantly, all fabrics meet strict standards, including OEKO-TEX, bluesign®, GRS, ZDHC, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, and SA8000, ensuring traceability, environmental management, and social responsibility.

Special Exhibit: EXPO 2025 Osaka Uniforms

CRAFTEVO – V&A Japan (Hall A1, Booth A1-02) created uniforms for EXPO 2025 Osaka using compostable CRAFTEVO® ReTE and ROICA™ V550 degradable stretch fiber. These uniforms, worn by 2,500 staff, are fully compostable, including fabric, threads, and labels. Consequently, this reduces waste and CO₂ emissions while setting a new standard for sustainable event apparel.
