JD Institute of Fashion Technology celebrated its 38th anniversary at Bombae Apartment Club, Mumbai, bringing together students, team members and industry leaders to commemorate its journey in design education and its continued commitment to creativity, learning and self-expression.

The celebration welcomed several prominent personalities from the fashion, photography, entertainment and business sectors, including fashion designer Archana Kochhar, photographer Vikram Bawa, Paul David Martin, Sachin Pardeshi, Janhavi Patwardhan, Navnedhi Waddhwa, writer Sangeeta Wadhwani, entrepreneur Vinit Parikh, film producer Tushar Rothe and actor Alok Arora, among others. The gathering provided students with opportunities to interact with industry professionals and build connections beyond the classroom.

Founded in 1988, JD Institute has evolved into an ecosystem of nine brands spanning education, industry, creativity, technology and community. As the design industry continues to transform through changing practices and technological advancements, the institute has adapted its approach while remaining committed to its founding vision.

Creativity and self-expression remain central to JD Institute’s educational philosophy. Students are encouraged to explore ideas, experiment with different approaches and develop confidence in their creative abilities. The institute also emphasises interaction and enjoyment as integral parts of the learning process, enabling students to discover their individual strengths while developing their skills.

The institution continues to evolve under the guidance of Yogesh Dalal, Trustee, and Dr Payal Dalal, Director, JD Institute of Fashion Technology, with a focus on nurturing emerging talent and responding to the changing needs of the creative industries.

Commenting on the milestone, Rinesh Dalal, Director, JD Institute of Fashion Technology, said, “Thirty-eight years of JD is a story of generations of students who came here with an ambition and went on to build their own journeys in the creative industry. What began with my grandfather Chandrakant Dalal’s and my parent’s vision has grown through the belief of our teachers, the trust of parents and the efforts of everyone who has been part of JD. A special thank you to all our Centre Directors for relentlessly working hard and ensuring the best education to students. As we celebrate this milestone, we also celebrate the people who have brought us here and the generations of creative talent who will take this journey forward.”

As JD Institute looks towards the future, its priorities remain centred on nurturing curiosity, encouraging creative expression and helping students build confidence in their abilities. With a network of more than 45,000 graduates and alumni contributing to the creative industry, the institute continues to build on its 38-year legacy while creating opportunities for the next generation of designers and creative professionals.
