Intex Sri Lanka 2025 Concludes 10th Milestone Edition

The 10th edition of Intex Sri Lanka wrapped up successfully, marking a decade of establishing itself as South Asia’s leading textile sourcing platform. Held from 6–8 August 2025 at BMICH, Colombo, the event brought together the entire textile value chain under one roof, reinforcing Sri Lanka’s position as a sourcing hub for the region.

This milestone edition featured 400+ booths from over 15 countries and regions, including pavilions from India, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Indonesia, and China. The show attracted 6,944 trade visitors and buyers from more than 25 countries across South Asia, ASEAN, MENA, the UK, USA, and beyond.

The Grand Opening Ceremony was attended by Hon. Sunil Handunnetti, Minister of Industry & Entrepreneurship Development, Hon. Chathuranga Abeysinghe, Deputy Minister of Industry & Entrepreneurship Development, along with ambassadors and trade officials from Korea, Indonesia, and India. Partners such as Eurofins (Sustainability Partner), Kasturi Cotton (Traceability Partner), Super Dry, and Oritain UK highlighted the show’s core themes of sustainability, transparency, and innovation.

Reflecting on the event’s success, Hon. Sunil Handunnetti emphasized that Intex has evolved beyond a sourcing exhibition to become a global platform for collaboration, innovation, and sustainable manufacturing, while reiterating the government’s support for initiatives that connect Sri Lankan producers with international buyers.

The show also hosted strategic B2B matchmaking sessions, fostering partnerships between Kasturi Cotton and Sri Lankan stakeholders, as well as between Indonesian suppliers and Sri Lankan buyers, opening new trade opportunities.

Running alongside the exhibition, the Interactive Business Forum (IBF) offered thought leadership with Day 1 focusing on “Apparel 2030: Re-Stitching Fashion’s Future” covering circularity, smart textiles, and traceability, while Day 2’s theme “Trust Over Trends: Building Brands Consumers Trust” highlighted transparency, consumer engagement, and brand resilience. Experts from India, Sri Lanka, the USA, and the UK contributed actionable insights for the future of apparel.

The co-located InMac – Smart Technology & Innovation in Gar-Tex Machinery Exhibition showcased next-generation machinery from Italy, Germany, Turkey, UK, USA, Korea, China, India, and Sri Lanka. AI-driven inspection systems, digital dyeing, and advanced printing technologies underlined the push toward sustainable and efficient production.

With a proven track record, Intex Sri Lanka continues to serve as the region’s most influential platform, fostering global connections, driving knowledge exchange, and enabling sustainable growth in the textile and apparel sector.
