HGH India, a well-established bi-annual trade show for home textiles, home décor, home furniture, houseware & gifts, commenced its 15th edition today, inaugurated by Mr. Arun Roongta, Managing Director, HGH India; Dr. Geert Boettger, Director, HGH India; Smt. Roop Rashi, IA&AS, Textile Commissioner, Ministry of Textiles, GOI. Special guests at the inaugural included ID Ketan Sheth, Chairman, IIID, Mumbai; Ar. Gaurish Chandawarkar, Directors, IES College of Architecture and Ar. Chandrashekhar Kanetkar, Principal Architect, Chandrashekhar Design INC. With a consistent aim to bring focus back on the domestic market, this 4-day trade show is taking place at the Bombay Exhibition Center, Mumbai. Spread over 50,000 sq. meters and 4 halls, this edition is witnessing a product & innovation showcase from close to 700 Indian and International brands & manufacturers from 32 countries.

On this momentous occasion, Managing Director, HGH India – Mr. Arun Roongta said, ‘Over the years, HGH India has become a platform which has been facilitating the growth of industry, growth of trade, design & innovation. We have had close to 40,000 pre-registrations from over 600 cities and towns across India, and the indications are that the total number of visitors are likely to exceed 41,240 visitors of last July. This clearly reflects an overwhelming interest of the trade in once again visiting HGH India to explore new business opportunities in the ever-evolving Indian market and stay ahead of their competitors. I am sure you will see a lot of new energy at this edition of HGH India.

Adding to that, the Guest of Honor, Smt. Roop Rashi said, “It is a matter of pleasure and privilege to be at HGH India, a show of this stature, which is promoting the industry and bringing the focus back to the domestic market. India makes 95% of the World’s handwoven fabric. The focus of the Ministry of Textile is to make best quality products for our country and abroad. We want to increase employment opportunities; at this moment we provide employment to 5. 4 Crore people, directly and indirectly. We would always encourage platforms like HGH India as they are bringing the Home Textiles industry together, with focus on India.”

The next four days are going to witness 2,500 innovative products being unveiled at HGH India by leading brands and manufacturers for home retailers, architects, interior designers, distributors and institutional buyers. Multi-faceted aspects at HGH India, over the next four days would be the IIID partnership, H Circle Awards, Trends 24/25, Indian Heritage pavilion and over 120 exhibitors showcasing Indian’s rich heritage and art in the handicrafts and handloom sector with humongous Government support.
