The singer’s all-red outfit for her appearance at the Super Bowl halftime show was specially created by Loewe and styled by Jahleel Weaver, who has worked with Rihanna on several of her famous looks.

For the first time ever, Rihanna’s dazzling appearances during her first pregnancy redefined maternity fashion standards. The singer, 34, revived her unrivalled flair and made a spectacular presence at the Super Bowl 2023. She began her performance by announcing that she is expecting her second child with lover A$AP Rocky. Aside from this, Rihanna’s all-red costume, which appeared to honour fashion editor and one of her closest colleagues on style André Leon Talley, who passed away in January 2022, made a lasting impression.

The pop star’s all-red attire for her performance at the Super Bowl halftime show was specially created by Loewe and styled by Jahleel Weaver, who has styled many of Rihanna’s iconic ensembles. The show’s dynamic scenography and flight gear, according to the brand, served as inspiration.

The multi-layered outfit was made up of a striking red catsuit as the first layer, a built-to-measure corset in sculpted leather as the second layer, and a matching cotton canvas flying suit as the third layer. Her baby bump was visible because the suit was belted below her waist. She finished off her ensemble with a pair of red sneakers and an Alaa leather puffer scarf with built-in gloves.

She changed into another Alaa outfit for the finale, a red leather maxi puffer coat with built-in gloves. This made-to-measure puffer has an uncanny resemblance to Talley’s late-model red sleeping bag coat. The honour was recognised by Talley’s Instagram account, which shared a side-by-side image of Talley and Rihanna sporting these comparable outfits.

“We’ll shine together when the sun shines. I promised you I’d stay here forever. I’ll always be your friend, I promised. @badgalriri,” the message read.

The creative director of Alaa, Pieter Mulier, told Vogue in an interview, “I was really fascinated in her idea of Alaa when Rihanna reached out to us for a few looks while we were getting ready for our latest collection. by the clothing she wishes to wear. How, too. For me, Rihanna represents the contemporary woman. a genuine beauty
