The outdoor clothing company WNDR Alpine has introduced a new line of activewear with moisture-wicking made from microalgae, which it claims has an 80% lower carbon footprint. The microalgae oil utilised in its skis and boards is the same oil used in WNDR Alpine’s Phase Series high performance range, according to the biotechnology firm Checkerspot, which created WNDR Alpine.
To transform the oil into a textile finish that is entirely free of petroleum, it collaborated with Swiss green chemical pioneer Beyond Surface Technologies.
