In a landmark moment for her label, Hyderabad-based couture designer Vaishali Agarwal steps onto the pan-India fashion stage for the first time, marking a significant evolution in her two-decade design journey. Known for her strong presence in Hyderabad’s couture landscape, the designer now expands to metro and national audiences with a showcase at a recently concluded fashion week in Mumbai, where her latest collection, Baakul, was unveiled with actor Alaya F as the showstopper.

This showcase represents more than a runway debut beyond Hyderabad; it reflects the expansion of Vaishali Agarwal’s design language to a broader luxury audience while remaining deeply rooted in regional craftsmanship and cultural nuance.

Over the past two decades, Vaishali has built a reputation for couture that seamlessly bridges tradition and modernity. What began as designing garments for her young daughter has evolved into a recognised couture label known for intricate embroidery, handcrafted textiles and culturally rich storytelling. Her work continues to honour Indian craftsmanship while aligning with the sensibilities of the modern bride and occasion wearer.

Grounded in research, craftsmanship and artisan collaboration, Vaishali Agarwal’s design philosophy draws from heritage, mythology and nature. This vision is brought to life through contemporary silhouettes tailored for the modern Indian woman. Her latest collection, Baakul, takes inspiration from the sacred flower offered to Lord Shiva and the cosmic rhythm of Nataraja, translating spiritual symbolism into fluid, graceful garments.

Despite marking her first showcase beyond Hyderabad, the collection retains a strong regional identity. Rich textile traditions, handcrafted surface techniques and poetic detailing remain central to its narrative. Motifs such as Nandi and the fish from Ganga are interpreted through dhabka embroidery, gota appliqué, handmade floral work and statement dori jackets.

The collection is further defined by fluid silhouettes, metallic accents and layered textures, offering a contemporary appeal suited for modern bridal wear, festive dressing and luxury occasionwear across India’s metro fashion landscape.

On the occasion, Fashion Designer Vaishali Agarwal comments,” Taking Baakul to one of the biggest Fashion Weeks in Mumbai is a defining milestone for us. It is the first time we are presenting Vaishali Agarwal couture beyond Hyderabad, opening our narrative to metro and pan-India audiences. Yet, every motif, texture, and silhouette continues to carry the essence of our roots. I wanted this collection to feel like Hyderabad’s craftsmanship in conversation with the aspirations of the modern Indian bride.”

Complementing the collection is Shivasa Fine Jewellery, founded by Sandhya Agarwal, a brand rooted in craftsmanship, legacy and modern elegance. Designed for the contemporary woman, Shivasa blends polkis, vibrant gemstones and diamonds to create pieces that extend beyond ornamentation into heirloom-worthy creations. From everyday essentials to statement jewellery, each piece reflects longevity, emotional value and generational appeal.

Together, Vaishali Agarwal’s Baakul and Shivasa Fine Jewellery present a cohesive narrative that celebrates heritage alongside modern expression, offering a refined vision of bridal and occasion wear defined by craftsmanship, symbolism and timeless elegance.
