The goal of Reliance Retail, the retail division of Reliance Industries Limited, is to introduce an apparel line and increase Superdry’s product selection in India. The retail model would include specialized storefronts.

An unidentified mall operator familiar to the venture told ET Bureau, “The company has been working on a retail format for leisure products, which has witnessed a surge in demand since the pandemic.” “Superdry Sports will be mid-size stores, while Decathlon, a French retailer, may also join with large format stores.”

The source claims that Reliance Retail intends to open many Superdry athletic clothing stores in India. The stores will start off selling clothing for men and women, and once the company has obtained the necessary accreditation from the Bureau of Indian Standards, they will also start selling shoes.

In 2023, Reliance Brands Limited and the British company Superdry entered into a joint venture deal for around Rs 405 crore, depending on the exchange rate in effect at the time. Reliance Brands now owns the intellectual property rights to Superdry’s products in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and India, thanks to the agreement.

In 2012, Superdry joined forces with Reliance Brands Limited of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited to enter the Indian market. The company operates retail locations in Bengaluru, New Delhi, Mumbai, and other cities throughout the nation.
