The shift from winter to spring is always exciting especially for fashion. Lighter layers, dresses, and a sense of emancipation replaces the bulky coats, knits, and boots. In terms of trends for spring 2023, there is a lot to look forward to. The moods throughout the designs ranged from soft and undone (read: draped Jersey, frayed textiles, and various touchable textures) to a refined minimalism (see: sharp tailoring and even smarter Button-up shirting). Our editors have already begun to like a handful of these as they transition their winter wardrobes to spring.

Practicality and an emphasis on daily uniforms are two of these tendencies. While some editors are looking for new ways to a style or recycle some of the most cherished classics, like Denim or the white dress shirt, others are taking their maxi skirts and fitted vests into the spring with a fresh perspective inspired by the shows. For an inside look at what our editors are buying right now and are most excited about, check to this shoppable spring 2023 trend guide.

Everyday Preciousness

I adored the ways that midi skirts with sequins, embroidery, and embellishments were worn on the spring 2023 catwalks. Designers raised the query: do you really need a particular event as an excuse or cause to wear something beautiful? They paired their creations with common clothing you already have in your collection, such as button downs, tees, and tanks. In my case, dazzling, perhaps? This season, I’m mixing the exquisite with the ordinary by wearing a dull grey jumper with flat black shoes, a striped button-down and Commission’s dazzling silver midi skirt as a basis. I adore the unexpected surprise that wearing something dazzling under otherwise unremarkable wardrobe essentials provides! Editor for markets Madeline Fass.
