Seibu, the premier luxury Japanese department store, is gearing up for its grand opening at The Exchange TRX on November 29. Spanning four floors, the store boasts a collection of over 700 luxury, international, contemporary, and Japanese brands. Seibu is set to introduce over 100 brands making their debut in the Malaysian market, along with hosting 110 Japanese brands, marking a significant entry into the retail landscape.
In an exclusive preview held on November 23, Malay Mail had the opportunity to explore what Seibu has in store for its patrons. Designed by renowned British architects HMKM and Cardy Papa, Seibu exudes an elegant ambiance, positioning itself as a haven for connoisseurs of luxury.
Upon entering through the valet entrance, patrons are welcomed by prestigious beauty brands like Chanel, Dior, Mulberry, and Hermes on the ground floor. Boasting 116 skincare, makeup, and cosmetics brands, this floor is touted as Malaysia’s largest Beauty Hall. The ground floor also features a meticulously curated “Shoe Salon” adjacent to a colossal origami crane tree, showcasing over 20 premier international footwear brands, including Giuseppe Zanotti, Rupert Sanderson, and Sergio Rossi.
The first floor of Seibu offers a shoppers’ haven with top-notch fashion brands such as Lauren Woman, The Shirt Bar, and G Star Raw presenting their latest offerings. On the second floor, patrons can explore a vast collection of children’s luxury fashion brands, toys, and travel accessories.
After an indulgent shopping spree, visitors can descend to the concourse level, where a tempting array of dining options awaits. Noteworthy debuts include Sushi Suzuki and Mediterranean restaurant La Marche, situated alongside favorites like Wagyu Beef One-Six, Miyatake Udon, and Tarbushi Ramen. For coffee enthusiasts, options like Kenny Hills Bakers, The Coffee Lounge by Kenny Hills Coffee, and Mori Kohi beckon at different levels.
Seibu is set to unveil an exclusive fashion collection designed by prominent Japanese artist and designer Hiroko Takahashi, adding an artistic touch to its diverse offerings.
