Rebag, a leading authority in luxury accessories resale, and thredUP, a major online resale platform, have joined forces to reshape the secondhand market landscape. In this multifaceted partnership, Rebag customers can now trade gently-worn items on thredUP for Rebag shopping credit, while thredUP customers gain direct access to select Rebag inventory on thredup.com.
As part of this collaboration, Rebag introduces a Clean Out program powered by thredUP’s Resale-as-a-Service® (RaaS®). This program broadens the spectrum of items Rebag customers can send in, extending beyond luxury to encompass apparel, shoes, and accessories from any brand. By leveraging thredUP’s marketplace with over 55,000 brands across 100 categories, Rebag customers can easily participate, generating a prepaid shipping label from rebag.thredup.com and sending in items for free. For items sold on thredUP, customers receive Rebag credit for online and in-store use.
Moreover, thredUP customers now have the opportunity to shop a curated selection of unique handbags directly from Rebag on thredup.com. This collaboration expands thredUP’s inventory, offering more luxury items from renowned brands such as Chanel, Christian Dior, Gucci, Hermes, and Louis Vuitton. Additional Rebag product categories, including watches and fine jewelry, will soon be incorporated.
Both companies are united in promoting circular shopping and sustainability, initiating collaborative content and hosting a giveaway for their social followers starting in December. Charles Gorra, Founder and CEO of Rebag, expresses enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the expansion of resale offerings and the opportunity for customers to earn Rebag credit through thredUP’s Clean Out program.
James Reinhart, CEO of thredUP, emphasizes the importance of industry collaboration for a more sustainable fashion future. Through this partnership, the aim is to empower more shoppers to engage in resale and encourage sustainable shopping choices.
