(X)S.M.L, the pioneer in local Indonesia fashion arena that was established from 1999 has made a presentation for their Spring Summer 2025 collection at Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo.  Being the only brand from Indonesia that has managed to show consistently abroad, (X)S.M.L promotes sustainability in fashion with the theme “Be Sustainable, Be Fashion”.   Using natural fabric and recycled fabric, more than 60 looks were presented on the runway.  Not only using natural fabric, the concept of durability and classic looks that can be mixed and matched to increase versatility were introduced during the show.

At (X)S.M.L, we want to promote responsible use of resources through recycling of materials and reduction in waste.  All of fabric offcuts were collected to be upcycled to create timeless, one-of-a-kind contemporary bags that were shown in the show.  Other bags presented were created from recycled pet-bottles and constructed using used milk cartons.  Understanding that we are not yet 100% sustainable, we aim to be put in continuous effort to be fully sustainable in the next five years as we collaborate with various institutions with similar visions.  And it is our hope to see sustainability to be integrated in human`s primary needs: food, clothing, and shelter.

Collaborating with Beyond Meat, Inc., a Los Angeles-based producer of plant-based meat substitutes founded in 2009, “Beyond Burgers” were distributed after the event.  Beyond Beef is made from a blend of plant-based ingredients, primarily derived from peas.  These ingredients are carefully selected and combined to mimic the taste, texture, and nutritional profile of traditional beef.  Beyond beef products are available at selected Maruetsu, Kasumi, and MaxValu stores.  Details at www.mygreengrowers.com
