Poltrona Frau has partnered with renowned street artist Shepard Fairey to introduce the Archibald Delicate Balance Limited Edition, a unique fusion of art, craftsmanship, innovation, and sustainability. The collection was unveiled during Salone del Mobile 2026 as part of the brand’s 2026 theme, “True Over Time.”
This collaboration transforms the iconic Archibald armchair into a collectible artistic statement, blending Fairey’s signature visual language with Poltrona Frau’s legacy of craftsmanship. The artwork explores themes of nature, life cycles, and human responsibility, centred around a female figure symbolising Mother Nature, surrounded by birds and floral elements.
Limited to just 200 numbered pieces, the edition is available exclusively through Poltrona Frau flagship stores and select authorised retailers worldwide. Each armchair is upholstered in Pelle Frau ColorSphere Impact Less leather, digitally printed with multiple colour layers and enhanced through selective 3D embossing, combining tactile depth with visual richness.
The initiative also incorporates a strong sustainability component through a partnership with Treedom. For every armchair sold, two trees will be planted in Guatemala, supporting a community of Indigenous women in the Huehuetenango region and contributing to fairer economic conditions.

Originally designed in 2009 by Jean-Marie Massaud, the Archibald armchair has become a symbol of Italian design excellence. This limited edition elevates its legacy through advanced material innovation, including sustainable tanning processes that reduce chemical use and water consumption, earning Leather Working Group Gold certification.
Each piece is finished with a polished brass plaque and includes a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist and the CEO. A bespoke clutch accompanies the armchair, while an integrated QR code enables buyers to redeem tree-planting contributions, reinforcing the project’s commitment to environmental and social impact.
