Paris Fashion Week was recently set ablaze by the creativity of male designers, as they unveiled a captivating array of styles for the Fall/Winter 2024-25 menswear collections. Among the standout designers were LGN Louis Gabriel Nouchi, Walter Van Beirendonck, and Bluemarble, each leaving their distinctive mark on the runway.

LGN Louis Gabriel Nouchi, already celebrated with the prestigious ANDAM Prize in 2023, not only showcased impeccable menswear but also made a bold move into the world of womenswear. Nouchi’s approach was intriguing, as he aimed to break away from clichéd views of the female body, instead opting to translate men’s proportions into a feminine aesthetic. This expansion was timely, aligning with the inspiration drawn from Guy de Maupassant’s novel, “Bel Ami,” where women play pivotal roles.

Walter Van Beirendonck injected the runway with his trademark creative exuberance, bringing forth eccentric designs that stood out for their uniqueness and flair. Meanwhile, Bluemarble, under the direction of Anthony Alvarez, made a statement with sophisticated streetwear that drew attention from rap artists and fashion enthusiasts alike.

The Bluemarble collection, housed in the former C&A department store on rue de Rivoli, featured standout pieces, including screen-sized bags and flamboyant faux-fur maxi coats. However, it was the attention to trousers and jeans that took the spotlight. From loose, adorned trousers to chic distressed jeans with artful rips, the collection showcased a variety of uber-chic versions. A notable highlight was the two-in-one t-shirt/shirt combo, demonstrating practicality without compromising on style. In essence, the Paris Fashion Week menswear shows were a celebration of innovation, diversity, and the distinctive voices of male designers, leaving fashion enthusiasts eager for the upcoming Fall/Winter season.
