The GMT complication enclosed in a 40mm case

Encapsulating the balance between timeless heritage and modern innovation, the Luminor Quaranta collection captures the distinctive aesthetic of the Luminor in a smaller dimension. The new Luminor Quaranta BiTempo continues the narrative featuring a dual time complication.

Under the hood of the 40mm steel case, the watch is powered by the automatic P.900/GMT calibre with a three-day power reserve, showcased through the sapphire crystal open back, highlighting Panerai’s Swiss technicity and skilled savoir-faire.

The addition of the GMT function enables wearers to simultaneously track local time and a second time zone, an essential feature for today’s cosmopolitan travellers. In low-light conditions, the gilded tip of the GMT hand illuminates in blue while the indexes glow in green, enhancing the watch’s legibility and aesthetic appeal.

This is complemented by a larger, more prominent date display for enhanced readability. Reflecting Panerai’s commitment to maintaining continuity with its rich history, the timepiece also features small seconds at 9 o’clock and distinct indexes reminiscent of previous models from the 2000s along with peculiar elements that define the Luminor line: the cushionshaped case and crown-protecting bridge.

The new reference is available either with a black or white dial, elegantly matched with an alligator strap, tone-on-tone stitching and brushed steel buckle contrasting with the polished steel bezel for a minimal yet dynamic look. For those seeking versatility and personalization, each wristwatch is equipped with the intuitive PAM Click Release System, allowing for easy strap changes, and also comes with a second rubber band. The PAM01365 displays a matte black dial, paired with white Super-Luminova®, and an additional black rubber strap; while the PAM01367 is declined in a matte white dial, combined with grey Super-Luminova®, and a blue rubber strap.

Inscribed with the name BiTempo, meaning “dual time” in Italian, the dial underscores the Maison’s roots and ode to Italian design tradition, a core pillar in Panerai’s enduring heritage of high-tech materials, reliable performance and innovative creations.

Officine Panerai is not the owner of the Super-Luminova® trademark.

Panerai

Founded in Florence in 1860 as a workshop, shop and subsequently school of watchmaking, for many decades Panerai supplied the Italian Navy and its specialist diving corps in particular with precision instruments.

The designs developed by Panerai in that time, including the Luminor and Radiomir, were covered by the Military Secrets Act for many years and were launched on the international market only after the brand was acquired by the Richemont Group in 1997.

Today Panerai develops and crafts its movements and watches at its Neuchâtel manufacture. The latter are a seamless melding of Italian design flair and history with Swiss horological expertise. Panerai watches are sold across the world through an exclusive network of distributors and Panerai boutiques.
