Damian Borg Steps into Expanded Role to Further Support Asia Region and Harness Strong Growth of Fly/Cruise Market from Asia
Following robust growth in the region and positioning for continued success in Asia as a major source market and popular destination for its global clientele, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), the pioneer in global cruise travel with a 58-year history of breaking boundaries, announced Damian Borg’s promotion to Senior Director of Sales Strategy & Operations for Asia Pacific.
Starting on January 1, 2025, Damian’s enlarged responsibilities will continue to assist Ben Angell, Vice President and Managing Director of NCL APAC throughout Asia, in concentrating on the fly/cruise market for NCL to important locations like Europe, Alaska, and Hawaii. He will also be leading the four country managers in the region and offering strategic advice to them. Among them are William Tay, Director of Sales Southeast Asia; Takahiko Yajima, Country Head of Japan; Crystal Wong, Director of Sales Greater China and South Korea; and Manoj Singh, Country Head of India. As part of its Partners First concept, which aims to be the most convenient cruise line to conduct business with by meeting and fostering relationships with its key trade partners, this appointment furthers NCL’s dedication to the area.
This comes after Angela Middleton was recently promoted to Director of Field Sales AU/NZ. Angela will keep working with Damian to spearhead the expansion of AUNZ trade partnerships and sales as he places more emphasis on Asia.
Ben Angell, Vice President and Managing Director of NCL APAC, stated, “Damian has already played a significant role in our success, and his appointment comes at an exciting time for NCL as we continue to capitalize on the strong cruise demand across the region.” “I am sure we have the right people to further support our country managers, valued trade partners, and customers across Asia Pacific, ensuring we deliver unforgettable cruise holidays around the world,” said Damian and Angela, who both took on enlarged duties.
“I’m excited to take on this expanded role to support Ben in driving NCL’s continued growth in Asia,” Damian Borg remarked in response to his promotion. We’re providing visitors with more to see, more to do, more to enjoy, and more value than ever before thanks to our top-notch entertainment and our varied itineraries around Europe and beyond. In order to highlight what NCL has to offer, I’m excited to collaborate closely with Ben, Ange, our skilled country managers, and our trading partners.
