Sapphire Mills has teamed with Green Story, an environmental footprint intelligence platform, to conduct extensive Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) at scale across its product portfolio as part of its commitment to sustainable business practices.

Through this partnership, Sapphire Textile Mills’ products will have their environmental impact quantified and communicated through the use of Green Story’s cutting-edge technology, which includes digital product passports (DPP) and unique QR codes.

Sustainable Innovation Through Data-Driven Insights

Sapphire Mills has always prioritized sustainability by focusing on its three main pillars: prosperity, planet, and people. The company has made significant investments in these fields, including a biomass-powered cogeneration facility, a cutting-edge wastewater treatment plant, and a range of recycled and biodegradable polyester products. Sapphire Mills is now going one step further by precisely measuring the environmental impact of every product in its line.

Setting Benchmark for Sustainability Transparency

Green Story is one of the few official Higg FEM Verifier bodies worldwide and a prominent Environmental Footprint intelligence platform. This accreditation guarantees high-quality and reliable environmental evaluations by ensuring that each piece of primary data obtained during verifications complies with strict criteria.‍

“We are honored to be working together with Sapphire Mills, which is a significant step forward for sustainable transparency in the textile sector. Sapphire Textile Mills’ use of our platform to measure their environmental effect is establishing new standards for accountability and promoting change.- Green Story CEO Akhil Sivanandan

Enhancing Traceability & Transparency

Sapphire Mills will use Green Story’s platform to show environmental data using PEF, EPD, and ISO 14047 approaches in an understandable and engaging way as a result of this agreement. Customers will be able to follow the environmental journey of each product from raw materials to completed items with the use of a digital product passport that can be accessed using QR codes.
