For the first time ever, the American Museum of Natural History will host the annual Fashion Awards ceremony and dinner organized by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). The prestigious event honors outstanding creativity in American fashion and generates funds for the CFDA’s pillars. In September, the CFDA will announce the candidates and awardees for next year’s Fashion Awards that recognize excellence in American fashion. The categories will include American Menswear Designer of the Year, American Womenswear Designer of the Year, American Accessories Designer of the Year, American Emerging Designer of the Year, International Women’s Designer of the Year, and International Men’s Designer of the Year.
Thom Browne, chairman of the CFDA, has expressed his excitement at the prospect of holding the awards ceremony at this iconic New York location. The 2022 event was held at Cipriani South Street at Casa Cipriani, with Catherine Holstein of Khaite taking home the Womenswear Designer of the Year award and Emily Adams Bode Aujla of Bode receiving the Menswear Designer of the Year award.
