Kentucky Fried Chicken, commonly referred to as KFC, is a well-known fast-food chain famous for its finger-licking good fried chicken. In a bid to expand its brand beyond food offerings, KFC has announced the launch of a new line of fashion accessories. This exciting news comes after the success of its first line of fashion in the UK in 2022, and the new line will be exclusively available at the KFC Australian merchandise store.
The KFC fashion line features garments adorned with the iconic red and white stripes, which the brand is known for, as well as designs that pay tribute to the recognisable KFC bucket. The collection includes an array of apparel, including sweatshirts, hoodies, and T-shirts, as well as a range of accessories such as bumbags, hats, socks, and slides. In line with the fast-food giant’s commitment to giving back to its community and society, all proceeds from the sale of the new KFC fashion accessories will be donated to the KFC Youth Foundation. The foundation, in partnership with three charity organisations, namely
The Black Dog Institute, ReachOut Australia, and Whitelion, works to improve the mental
well-being of Australian youth. The new fashion line is indeed a smart move for KFC, as it
garners supporters for a good cause while also diversifying the brand beyond its classic food
offerings.
As part of the launch, KFC hosted an exclusive runway show to celebrate the new fashion line. The show precedes Sydney Fashion Week and reiterates the brand’s ambition to break into the fashion industry with the launch of its latest collection. Speaking on the unveiling of the new collection, Sally Spriggs, KFC Australia’s Chief Marketing Officer, expressed KFC’s pleasure to answer the call from fans to bring the iconic range of merch to Australia. In her statement, Spriggs also conveyed KFC’s joy to partner with charity organisations to support Australian youth mental well-being through the KFC
Youth Foundation.
With the introduction of its new fashion line, KFC is indeed setting a trend for the fast-food industry with its novel approach to diversifying its brand beyond food offerings. As such, we can expect more brands to follow in the footsteps of KFC to create new lines of merchandise for their loyal fans. Moreover, the company’s commitment to giving back to the community greatly benefits thousands of young Australians in the long run, thereby making the launch of the KFC fashion line a win-win situation for everyone.
