Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics Autumn 2026 Concludes with Strong Global Engagement

The three-day sourcing platform brought together more than 3,500 exhibitors and over 100,000 visitors, highlighting innovation across fashion, performance, sustainability and digital textile solutions.

Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition 2026 concluded on 27 August, bringing together more than 3,500 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions across 240,000 sqm at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).

The three-day fair welcomed over 100,000 visitors, providing an international platform for sourcing, product discovery and industry networking. The event highlighted scalable textile solutions responding to evolving market requirements around creativity, functionality, sustainability and production efficiency.

The Autumn Edition was structured around four core themes: Fashion Forward, Performance Textiles, Sustainability and Textile Future, offering buyers a framework to explore developments across the textile value chain.

“The response from fairgoers this autumn reflected strong demand for practical solutions and meaningful industry exchange,” said Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. “Across design, performance, sustainability and digitalisation, the fair helped visitors navigate a complex market, connect with relevant partners, and procure the ideas and technologies needed for their next stage of development.”

Fashion, Performance and Sustainability Take Centre Stage

Under Fashion Forward, exhibitors showcased seasonal collections, material concepts and design-oriented solutions supporting upcoming product development.

For Mr Joshua Lane, Regional Director – Asia, Holland & Sherry, the exhibition also provided an opportunity to gather direct feedback from customers and assess market direction while developing future collections.

The Performance Textiles theme received additional attention through the upgraded Functional Lab. Its expanded The CUBE display combined fabric samples, product demonstrations and testing applications, including technical showcases from IDFL Laboratory and Institute and Sunshinetex International Holdings covering airshift and waterproof testing, down-proof testing and down inspection.

Functional fabric suppliers showcased solutions across four areas: thermal regulation, sustainability and comfort, moisture management, and protection.

Among the exhibitors, Prutex Nylon collaborated with INVISTA to present performance materials, functional yarns, sustainable solutions and fabrics designed for multiple applications. Its PRUECO® OCEAN yarn, for example, uses discarded fishing nets as a source material for nylon 6,6.

According to Ms Molly Kremidas, Global Sales & Marketing Director of Prutex Nylon, visitors showed strong interest in sustainable functional alternatives and solutions combining sustainability with properties such as cooling and moisture management.

Sustainability and Digitalisation Drive Textile Innovation

The Sustainability pillar was anchored by the Econogy Hub, alongside sustainability-focused solutions displayed throughout the exhibition.

Exhibitors presented bio-based and recycled materials, lower-impact manufacturing processes, traceability solutions and alternatives to virgin petroleum-based materials.

Mr Rahul Bhajekar, Managing Director of Global Standards, highlighted the organisation’s plans for the Global Responsible Textile Standard (GRTS), which is intended to cover responsibly produced fibres including lyocell, animal fibres, silk, wool and recycled synthetics.

Meanwhile, Textile Future was represented through the Innovation & Digital Solutions Zone, where exhibitors demonstrated AI-supported workflows, digital product development technologies and production management solutions.

Mr Himanshu Mehrotra, Managing Director of Coats Digital, noted the importance of China as a market and highlighted the company’s development of AI-enabled capabilities for local factories. The exhibition also generated interest from visitors seeking follow-up presentations on these technologies.

International Participation Broadens Sourcing Opportunities

International suppliers remained an important part of the exhibition, with country and regional pavilions and international zones expanding sourcing opportunities.

New exhibiting countries and regions included Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Malaysia, Nigeria, Norway, Sweden and Thailand, further broadening the fair’s international representation.

Mr Gervais Nagnontcha Coulibaly, Head of Communication, Media and Digital, Investment Promotion Centre of Côte d’Ivoire (CEPICI), said the country’s participation was focused on promoting its cotton and textile sector and attracting investment to develop the wider cotton value chain.

International buyers also highlighted the exhibition’s role in identifying new materials, suppliers, technologies and market opportunities.

Ms Alisa Teeprinyakul, Managing Director, Somprasongstudio 1989, Thailand, noted the fair’s coverage of the textile value chain, from raw materials to advanced technologies.

Ms Pik Ki Tsoi, Fabric Development Lead, Celio Sourcing Ltd, France, highlighted the availability of knit, sportswear and outerwear fabrics, along with suppliers equipped for international trade and certifications required for the French market.

For Ms Sherri Kiernikowski, Director, Wanderluxe Sleepwear, Australia, the exhibition provided opportunities to discover new suppliers, design concepts, trimmings and print patterns for future product development while maintaining relationships with existing partners.

Industry Insights Extend Beyond the Exhibition Floor

The fair’s fringe programme complemented the sourcing activity with sessions covering trends, sustainability, functional innovation, digital transformation and supply chain development.

Mr Kai Chow, Curator of Intertextile Directions Trend Forum and Creative Director, MUSEATIVE, explained that this edition’s Trend Forum explored emotions and feelings alongside traditional trend narratives, with a first-time collaboration with Notes Shanghai adding another experiential dimension.

The seminar programme also provided companies with opportunities to present technical expertise and engage with industry stakeholders.

Ms Luka Yuan, Deputy President – Sales & Marketing Dept, Unifi Textiles (Suzhou), described Intertextile Apparel as an influential industry platform and highlighted its concurrent seminars as an avenue for discussing recycled polyester and facilitating dialogue across the supply chain.

Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition 2026 was co-organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT, and the China Textile Information Center.
