The VisioNxt: NIFT’s Trend Insight and Forecasting Lab
VisioNxt प्रयोगशशाला, an initiative of NIFT, is under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Its goal is to provide innovative research and trend insights for India’s fashion and retail sector. Additionally, it offers a range of seminars, academic courses, and trend-related consulting services. VisioNxt has created a forecasting system specially tailored to the distinct dynamics of the Indian market by fusing artificial intelligence (AI) with emotional intelligence (EI). Its main goal is to map the complexity and variety of India’s fashion scene so that companies, designers, brands, retailers, craftspeople, and weavers may anticipate and adapt to the changing demands of Indian consumers.
In the presence of dignitaries Shri Pabitra Margherita, Honourable Minister of State for External Affairs & Textiles; Smt. Rachna Shah, Secretary Textiles; and Shri Rohit Kansal, Additional Secretary Textiles, the Honourable Minister of Textiles launched the first-ever bilingual fashion trend book specifically for India, “Paridhi 24×25,” and a web portal on September 5, 2024, at the Longchamp Hall, Taj Mahal Hotel New Delhi. The e-copy has been downloaded 2000 times since Paridhi’s release, and the website has had close to 23,000 visits overall.
India’s foray into the trend forecasting market has a number of benefits, including a decreased dependency on international forecasting firms, a unique understanding of Indian fashion customers, an integration of India’s textile and information technology assets, and a fusion of artificial and human intelligence. By increasing exposure to the Indian fashion language and identity and decreasing dependency on foreign trend agencies, VisioNxt establishes India as a worldwide leader in trend forecasting.
