India International Textile Machinery Exhibitions Society (India ITME Society) celebrated a key milestone for India’s textile engineering sector with the 3rd edition of the ITME Technical Awards 2025. The ceremony took place at a high-level industry gathering in Mumbai.
Industry and Government Leaders Come Together
The event was led by Mr. Ketan Sanghvi, Chairman and Member of the Steering Committee, India ITME Society. It brought together senior industry leaders, policymakers, academicians, and technologists.
Notably, Ms. Roop Rashi Mahapatra, IA & AS, Chief Executive Officer, Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Government of India, attended the event. Her presence underlined the growing national focus on innovation, skills development, and advanced textile manufacturing.
Leaders Highlight Innovation and Skills
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ketan Sanghvi said the quality of applications reflected the strong future of India’s textile engineering industry. He highlighted the role of young innovators who are bringing fresh ideas and entrepreneurial thinking. Moreover, he reiterated India ITME Society’s commitment to helping innovators convert ideas into scalable solutions.
Meanwhile, Ms. Roop Rashi Mahapatra emphasised that khadi and traditional industries should not be viewed through a philanthropic lens. Instead, she described them as powerful drivers of economic growth. According to her, combining tradition with modern technology and design strengthens enterprises and supports inclusive development.
In addition, Mr. Neeraj Jain, Joint Managing Director, Vardhman Textiles, pointed out that rapid changes in cotton sourcing and fabric innovation demand stronger technical insight across the industry.
Perspectives on Design, Technology, and AI
Further, Mr. Edward Menezes, Executive Chairman, Rossari Biotech Limited, shared that long-term success depends on vision and consistency. He noted that while industry platforms are important, belief in design-led growth ultimately determines sustainability.
Similarly, Ms. Swati Pandey, VCMD, Maharashtra Airport Development Company, stated that technology alone cannot drive progress. She stressed the need for innovation and new thinking. She also highlighted AI as a key partner that enables industries to move faster and smarter.

The ITME Technical Awards 2025 received support from the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, and the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India. SBI powered the awards.
Together, these partners recognised individuals, companies, and students for excellence in textile engineering, innovation, sustainability, and technical leadership. The awards aim to encourage technology adoption and continuous improvement across the textile value chain.
Esteemed Jury and Transparent Evaluation
India ITME Society appointed a distinguished jury comprising leading technocrats and industry experts. The jury included representatives from ITMF, Reliance Industries, Welspun Group, Deesan Group, ITA Technology Transfer, NimkarTek Technical Services, NIFT, SNDT Women’s University, Lakshmi Card Clothing, and LMW Ltd.
This ensured a transparent and credible evaluation process.
Award Winners Across Key Categories
The 2025 awards honoured achievements across multiple categories. These included textile engineering and technology, processing and finishing, sustainability, CSR initiatives, eco-design, accessories manufacturing, and Make in India manufacturing.
Leading companies such as Yamuna Machine Works, Zydex Industries Private Limited, Prashant Gamatex Pvt. Ltd., Maksteel Wire Healds Pvt. Ltd., and Rieter India Pvt. Ltd. received recognition. Additionally, outstanding undergraduate and postgraduate students were awarded for innovation and eco-design.

The evening concluded with networking and industry interactions. Overall, the event reinforced India ITME Society’s role as a vital platform for collaboration, dialogue, and progress within India’s textile engineering ecosystem.
