Rodic Announces Rs. 200 Crore Venture Initiative for AI and Infrastructure Technology
Rodic Consultants Pvt. Ltd. has announced a Rs. 200 crore corporate venture initiative to support startups, founders, researchers and academic teams. The initiative will focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), deep-tech and technology solutions for India’s infrastructure and allied sectors.
The investment pool will include Rs. 100 crore committed by Rodic. The company expects to raise another Rs. 100 crore through co-investments from angel funds, venture capital firms, angel investors and ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNIs).
The initiative will offer more than funding. Selected innovators will also gain access to live infrastructure projects, engineering expertise and potential public and private sector customers. This support will help startups move their technologies from prototypes and pilot projects to real-world use.
Supporting Innovation in Infrastructure
Rodic aims to address a key challenge in infrastructure innovation. Although AI, computer vision, sensors, drones and robotics continue to advance, many startups and researchers struggle to access live project sites, engineering expertise and large-scale testing opportunities.
The initiative builds on Rodic’s 26 years of experience in infrastructure engineering. Its work covers highways, bridges, tunnels, railways, metros, urban infrastructure, water, hydropower and mining.
Raj Kumar, Chairman & Managing Director, Rodic Consultants Pvt. Ltd., said, “India is entering a new phase of infrastructure development, where the focus is increasingly on how intelligently infrastructure is designed, delivered, operated and maintained. Technologies such as AI, computer vision, drones, sensors and robotics have the potential to fundamentally change this process. However, innovators often need more than capital. They need access to real infrastructure problems, project sites, engineering expertise, data and potential users. Through this ₹100 crore commitment, we want to bring these elements together and create an environment where technology can be tested against real-world infrastructure challenges and developed for deployment at scale.”
Focus Areas and Sectors
The initiative will support technologies that improve how teams plan, design, build, monitor and maintain physical infrastructure.
Its priority areas include:
- Artificial Intelligence and machine learning
- Physical AI
- Drones and computer vision
- Sensors and Internet of Things (IoT)
- Robotics and autonomous systems
- Digital twins and geospatial technologies
- AI tools for engineers
- Advanced materials and climate-tech solutions
The programme will cover several sectors, including roads and highways, bridges and tunnels, metro and railways, power and energy, healthcare infrastructure, mining, agriculture, water and climate-related projects.
Startups at different stages can apply. Academic and research teams can also participate if their technologies have potential for testing and use in infrastructure and physical assets.
Support Beyond Investment
Rodic will connect selected innovators with its engineers and domain specialists. They will get opportunities to test their solutions in relevant project environments and understand implementation and procurement needs.
The company will also help startups improve their products for potential adoption by infrastructure stakeholders. In addition, Rodic plans to work with universities and research institutions to turn applied research into practical solutions.
Startups can submit their proposals to connect@rodicinfra.ai. Rodic will review the pitches for potential investment under a clear governance model.
Through this initiative, the company aims to support AI-enabled design, predictive maintenance and real-time asset monitoring. It also seeks to promote safer project execution and more resilient, sustainable infrastructure.
Rodic InfraAI Conclave 2027
As part of its wider push for infrastructure innovation, Rodic will host the Rodic InfraAI Conclave 2027 on January 22, 2027. The event will bring together government representatives, industry leaders, investors and innovators to discuss the role of AI and technology in India’s infrastructure sector.
