As part of India Couture Week, designer Suneet Varma debuted a regal yet delicate wedding and event wear collection on the evening of July 26. At the Taj Palace’s Shah Jehan Hall in Delhi, the display was put on by jewels partner Raniwala 1881.
The crimson lehenga ensembles in the collection were combined with discreetly provocative aspects, such blouses made completely of gold jewellery. Before the last looks unveiled the lavishly adorned gowns with 3D features and dramatic dimensions, various translucent ensembles floated down the catwalk in pastel colours among the more structured styles.
The runway was covered in hanging flowers and chandeliers, creating an extravagant setting for the couture presentation. For a refined appearance, models wore their hair in traditional buns, accessorised with flowers, and had stunning yet sophisticated makeup looks.
Hyundai is a sponsor of the 16th iteration of India Couture Week, which takes place from July 25 to August 2. Ritu Kumar, Dolly J, Rahul Mishra, and Falguni Shane Peacock are just a few of the 16 designers who will be showcasing their work at the fashion week, which is organised in partnership with Reliance Brands Limited and takes place in several New Delhi locales.
After spending time in Europe working for fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, Suneet Varma introduced his first couture line in 1987. In the DLF Emporio in New Delhi, the designer opened an eponymous shop. The designer continues to sell his designs there as well as at multi-brand stores like Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop, Aashni & Co., and Kalki Fashion.
