The joint fashion project ‘Dress your story’ by Amazon, in collaboration with the European Institute of Design (IED) in Rome and the Tuscan textile company Dalle Piane Cashmere, has materialized after its official launch on May 10th in Florence. Revealing a sneak peek into the creative process, the company unveiled 25 fashion sketches inspired by the stories and passions of the participating employees.
In recent weeks, students from IED Roma’s Fashion Design program had the unique opportunity to engage with and learn about the 25 individuals selected for this special initiative. The project aimed to represent Amazon’s core values of equity, inclusion, and diversity in an unconventional and authentic manner.
This exchange of ideas between the aspiring designers and Amazon employees provided the IED students with an exciting new challenge—creating garments that mirrored the interests, passions, and experiences of each individual employee.
Elena Ceccolini, Amazon’s Operations Manager for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, underlined the significance of the youthful energy and creativity harnessed by young individuals, which Amazon deeply recognizes. Ceccolini further emphasized that this project aligned with Amazon’s commitment to excellence, as demonstrated through their numerous collaborations with leading Italian universities. As she explained, this endeavour embodies the excellence of Italian craftsmanship, the sophistication of Italian style, and the exceptional qualities of the involved people.
Looking ahead, the next Dress your story event is scheduled for the autumn season, during which the employees will grace the catwalk in a genuine fashion show. They will proudly showcase the unique creations designed by the students from IED Roma and skilfully produced by Dalle Piane Cashmere.
