Her Story’s latest collection ‘Sero’ is inspired by Lucknow’s Chikankari

The beauty of connection, which gives us all the impression that we’re a part of something greater and more lovely in the world, deserves some praise. Sero, the most recent compilation from Her Story, was motivated by this humane mentality.

Sero, which means “to reach out to one another with compassion,” is derived from the Sanskrit word for “thread” and the Latin word for “to link or join.”

This is depicted in the beautiful gems of the collection using the popular traditional Lucknowi embroidery technique known as Chikankari. The Sero jewels are precisely crafted around Akoya pearls in designs that are inspired by tiny threadwork, and they incorporate delicately connected, flexible rose-cut and pavé-set brilliant-cut diamonds.

The talented artisans of Her Story created a novel connection strategy just for the collection. As a result, it was possible to make the connections between the gems appear invisible and use the rose-cut diamonds to provide a distinctive, adaptable aesthetic.

Just the first lead piece for the collection required over 1100 hours of labour from the group of craftsmen who were specially trained to master this method!

Jewels made of 18K rose gold in this exquisite and intricate collection are characterised by tone-on-tone colours and magnificent shapes and textures.

The collection, which includes a variety of necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings, is now on show at the Her Story flagship store in Kala Ghoda, Mumbai.
