Gucci’s New Men’s Fashion: Sabato’s Unique Touch with ‘Gucci Ancora’

Gucci’s new menswear collection by Sabato De Sarno made its debut in Milan, and it’s called “Gucci Ancora,” which means “again” in Italian. The designer chose a big, renovated factory space for the fashion show, creating a unique atmosphere at the Fonderia Carlo Macchi, an old ironworks in Milan.

The collection was supposed to be all about burgundy, but surprisingly, there wasn’t much of that color. Instead, the clothes had a more serious and skillfully made appearance. Sabato talked about the collection being a story of objects that are shiny, cool to the touch, but warm to the heart and soul. He wanted these pieces to be collected and enjoyed in life, not just displayed in a museum.

The fashion show began with a notable look – a long coat in gray metal wool, paired with studded shoes. Sabato played with different fabrics like gabardine, silk, and fine wool, creating suits and tuxedos with buttons cleverly placed to one side. He even shared his vision for next fall, suggesting big collar single-breasted trenches and bold all-monogram looks.

For the evenings, there were dazzling smocks and sequined rockstar coats that would look fantastic in fashion photos. The collection also included accessories like foam-soled shoes, shoulder bags, and chunky gold necklaces for those who love fashion and want to show it off.

Even though Sabato knows how to put together a great collection, some felt the fashion show lacked that extra something special. Before Christmas, he sent a beautiful book to friends and editors, highlighting various creatives from the ‘80s. Unlike the glamorous styles of Tom Ford or the quirky aesthetic of Alessandro Michele, Sabato De Sarno has his own unique style, making him stand out in the world of fashion.
