The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council’s Special Economic Zone subcommittee and the Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery Udupi collaborated to advance technology in the jewellery manufacturing sector by offering a comprehensive Computer Aided Design training programme.

As part of the IIJG Udupi and GJEPC’s CAD rendering training programme, students were taught how to use and become adept with Keyshot CAD software during a 40-hour online course, according to the GJEPC website. The GJEPC’s attempt to upskill the Indian jewellery industry in order to boost exports and establish a worldwide reputation included the training.

“The impact of this training was evident in the impressive student works produced,” according to the GJEPC’s website.Participants produced outstanding renderings and animations to showcase their recently acquired skills. These sculptures served as examples of the advanced techniques and painstaking attention to detail that were taught in the course.

Every day, students received four hours of Zoom-presented instruction in addition to having access to extra support over WhatsApp. The training programme included creating light sources, precise colour representations of gold, and advanced editing techniques for visualising diamonds in CAD.
