Published: August 17, 2024
Author: Fashion Value Chain

(New Delhi, 14th August 2024) Cumulative exports of Textiles and Apparel (T&A) during July 2024  recorded a notable growth of 4.73% compared to July 2023. This growth has been primarily driven by  a significant increase in apparel exports, which surged by 11.8% in July 2024 over the same period last  year.

Commenting on the positive performance, Shri Rakesh Mehra, Chairman, CITI stated, “This year has  shown promising progress for India’s T&A exports, particularly when compared to last year. The  growth in exports is largely attributed to the expanding share of Indian apparel in key markets such as  the USA, alongside increased exports to the EU-27 and the UK. The industry remains optimistic about  export orders in the upcoming months, and we are poised to further leverage the concluded FTAs like  the India-Australia ECTA and the India-UAE CEPA. These agreements are expected to provide additional momentum to our exports.”

The industry anticipates continued growth and is strategically positioning itself to capitalize on these  opportunities, ensuring that India remains a key player in the global textiles and apparel market.
