Mumbai, November 5, 2024: Shubbam Sharrma has been appointed Chief Growth Officer of Pepperfry, the top e-commerce furniture and home décor company in India. With more than 17 years of retail, e-commerce, and omnichannel expertise, Shubbam has led high-achieving teams and strategic growth initiatives in a variety of industries.

Shubbam will lead Pepperfry’s growth strategy in his new position as Chief Growth Officer, emphasizing market share expansion, client acquisition, and operational efficiency. Among his duties will be the rapid expansion of the Home Categories, the introduction of new Categories, and the development of the B2B market through programs such as the Multi-tiered Channel Partner Program and the investigation of new B2B opportunities with HORECA and Corporates. Shubbam is a great asset to Pepperfry’s leadership team because of his extensive knowledge of the consumer sector and track record of fostering disruptive innovation.

Ashish Shah, Pepperfry’s co-founder and CEO, commented on the new hire, saying, “We are thrilled to welcome Shubbam to the Pepperfry family.” He is the perfect leader to lead our next stage of growth because of his vast experience in retail growth and his profound knowledge of the consumer landscape. We have no doubt that Pepperfry’s position as the clear market leader in furniture, mattresses, and home décor will be cemented thanks in large part to Shubbam’s vision and experience.

“I’m excited to be part of Pepperfry during this exciting phase of its growth journey,” stated Shubbam Sharrma, Chief Growth Officer. Pepperfry has emerged as the preferred location for those wishing to purchase furnishings. In order to complete an increasing number of customer journeys and improve the efficiency of the business funnel, our goal is to significantly improve this sector through tech-driven innovation and omnichannel integration. We will democratize access for D2C business owners by encouraging content and community involvement, which will enable us to offer our clients the most carefully chosen collections.

Our goal is to create a one-stop shop for the home by combining modern and traditional brands—the best of both worlds. Additionally, we believe that the B2B market has a lot of promise, especially for creating a carefully curated platform that would enable architects and interior designers to satisfy the demands of their affluent clientele. We are dedicated to creating effective channels to cater to this market since each B2B client setting up a workspace needs a lot of furniture and décor. We will work together to establish new standards for innovation, operational excellence, and customer-centricity,” Shubbam Sharma continued.

Shubbam was the Chief Business Officer at ImpactGuru prior to joining Pepperfry, where he oversaw expansion into several locations and improved marketing, operations, and human resources procedures. During his time as Used Cars P&L Head, he played a key role in making CarDekho a market leader in the retail used automobile industry. His expertise in advising traditional retail and consumer internet businesses on development strategies, digital transformation, and market expansion was further expanded by his consultancy work with RedSeer and KSA Technopak. Shubbam, who started his career at Godrej, is also a co-founder of a direct-to-consumer fashion firm that aims to provide ethnic dress with a contemporary, approachable alternative.

Shubbam has a B.Tech from the College of Engineering Roorkee and an MBA from IIM Lucknow. In his free time, he likes to do consumer brand research, listen to podcasts and audiobooks, and practice yoga and meditation to keep invigorated.
