Casio India Celebrates Children’s Day with Inter-School Sports Event Under Its ‘Sports for Change’ CSR Initiative

Casio India Co. Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Casio Computer Co., Japan, partnered with Sportz Village Foundation to celebrate Children’s Day through an inter-school sports event. The event took place at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Inter College, Gautam Buddh Nagar. Casio India sponsored the event and honoured the winners. The company also recognised high-performing athletes who excel at state and national levels.

Creating Opportunities Through Sports

The ‘Sports for Change’ program supports 20 U.P. Government Schools, giving underprivileged students structured training and exposure to competitive sports. The initiative encourages physical fitness, mental well-being, teamwork, and resilience. It also focuses on developing sports infrastructure, including safe playgrounds and practice courts.

Leadership Perspectives

Mr. Takuto Kimura, Managing Director, Casio India, said,
“At Casio, we firmly believe that true progress comes from nurturing the potential of the next generation. ‘Sports for Change’ reflects our ongoing commitment to creating meaningful social impact by empowering children through sports education. We are not only helping them stay active and healthy but also building a foundation of teamwork, resilience, and discipline — values that resonate deeply with Casio’s philosophy of creativity and contribution.”

Mr. Akira Watanabe, Director, Casio India, added,
“Through our CSR initiative, ‘Sports for Change’, we aimed to create pathways to sports excellence by integrating structured activities both inside and outside the classroom. The program has been designed to empower young minds — both girls and boys — to explore their sporting potential and thrive in an environment that celebrated inclusion and equal opportunity. Together with Sportz Village Foundation, we aspire to help children follow their passion for sports while fostering holistic development.”

Impact and Reach

This year, the initiative supported over 600 students across the 20 schools. The program evaluated students for their athletic abilities and selected top performers for advanced after-school coaching at four Sports Development Centres (SDCs). These students gained specialised training and opportunities to participate in tournaments and selection trials.

Commitment to Social Development

Casio continues to strengthen its contribution to youth development and community growth. By enabling more children to access sports education, the company encourages character building and long-term confidence.
