Bharat Tex 2026 has witnessed exceptional business activity and international participation during its first three days, further strengthening India’s position as a leading global hub for textile sourcing, manufacturing, innovation and investment. Hosted at Bharat Mandapam, the event has attracted strong engagement from exhibitors, buyers, policymakers and industry leaders from across the world.

Spread across more than 16 lakh square feet, Bharat Tex 2026 has brought together 1,647 exhibitors, nearly 95,000 business visitors, including more than 20,000 repeat visits, alongside 11,315 buyers, of whom 6,090 are international. The event has also welcomed 3,461 delegates and participants representing 138 countries, reflecting growing confidence in India’s textile and apparel ecosystem.

The exhibition has generated significant commercial activity, facilitating over 28,500 B2B meetings, more than 100 B2G and G2G interactions, and several strategic investment discussions. Textile investment commitments worth approximately ₹14,300 crore have been announced through over 30 Memorandums of Understanding signed by various states, including Karnataka, Bihar, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. In addition, RE&UP announced an investment of ₹4,800 crore in India, while business enquiries valued at nearly USD 2.8 billion were generated during the event.

State participation has remained a major highlight, with Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu participating as State Partners. Several other states and Union Territories also showcased their textile capabilities through dedicated pavilions. The event witnessed the presence of senior government leaders, including the Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Punjab, along with ministers from multiple states.

Bharat Tex 2026 also welcomed ministerial delegations from New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Russia, Cambodia and Portugal, besides representatives from the European Union and industry delegations from over 30 countries, including the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, France, Australia, South Korea and the UAE.

Knowledge sharing remained central to the event, with more than 100 sessions featuring over 600 policymakers, industry experts, academicians and business leaders. Discussions covered sustainability, circularity, global trade, artificial intelligence, responsible sourcing, technical textiles and investment opportunities.

The Sanrachna Hackathon emerged as one of the event’s key attractions, showcasing innovative technical textile solutions developed by students and young innovators. Projects ranged from protective clothing for farmers to advanced healthcare products and insulated materials designed for extreme weather conditions, highlighting collaboration between academia, industry and government.

To encourage inclusive growth, Bharat Tex organised exposure visits for more than 250 entrepreneurs and weavers from Aspirational Districts, enabling them to interact directly with buyers, exhibitors and industry experts while gaining insights into exports, product development, branding and quality standards.

The event also hosted the Board Meeting of the International Apparel Federation (IAF), reinforcing India’s growing role in global apparel manufacturing. A significant milestone was the signing of a Letter of Intent between the Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) and Première Vision Paris to strengthen textile collaboration between India and the European Union through enhanced market access, sustainable sourcing, design intelligence and business partnerships.

Industry discussions also focused on promoting India’s heritage textiles as premium global products, with leading designers emphasising craftsmanship, handlooms and cultural storytelling as key differentiators for international markets.

The exhibition featured several specialised pavilions, including CMAI’s Brands of India Pavilion, which showcased over 70 Indian apparel brands along with a dedicated intimate and innerwear section. Leading domestic and international brands presented their latest collections to buyers and retailers.

Sustainability remained a core theme through the Eco-Stitch Sustainability & Circularity Hub, jointly organised by CMAI and the Global Alliance for Textile Sustainability (GATS). The pavilion highlighted circular fashion, recycling, material innovation and sustainable manufacturing through multiple thematic zones designed to promote responsible textile production.

With strong business engagement, international participation, knowledge exchange and investment announcements, Bharat Tex 2026 continues to reinforce India’s ambition of becoming the world’s preferred destination for textile manufacturing, sourcing, innovation and sustainable growth.
