By being one of the top three winners of Godrej Professional Spotlight, a program that honors hairstylists nationally, Bengaluru’s very own Laltlan Kimi from Luv Salon (Byrathi) made the city proud. The goal of Spotlight, which is organized by Godrej Professional, a well-known professional hair brand that sells hair color and hair care products from the Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) house, is to identify outstanding hairstylists and foster their career development.
Thirty gifted finalists were selected from more over 400 entries nationwide for the grand finale, which took place in Mumbai. In an amazing grand finale, each contender displayed carefully chosen hairstyles on the runway that were influenced by the Godrej Professional’s Surreal Collection. Along with 29 other competitors, Laltan Kimi showcased her own hair color invention at the grand finals event. She was among the top three winners due to her extraordinary artistic ability and flare, and she also received a plaque to honor her accomplishments and INR 1.5 lakh in cash to further her career goals.
It has been an incredible experience to take part in and receive recognition in the Godrej Professional Spotlight. My viewpoint has been broadened and my love for hairstyling has been bolstered by the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from professionals in the field. Top finalist of the Godrej Professional Spotlight Event, Latlan Kimi, expressed her sincere gratitude to Godrej Spotlight and the Godrej Professional team for developing such a motivating and encouraging platform.
Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) General Manager Abhinav Grandhi continued, “We are really happy of the tremendous reaction to Godrej Professional Spotlight. This platform not only gives gifted hairdressers a chance to express their creativity, but it also shows how dedicated we are to training and education. With this program, we hope to provide stylists with the knowledge and visibility they need to succeed in a field that is becoming more and more competitive. This is only a small step in our long-term goal of developing and advancing salon professionals in India.
The other two top winners, in addition to Laltan Kimi, were Priyanka Sinha from Kaixo Academy in Kolkata and Bhavin Bavaliya from Bonanza Beauty Lounge in Rajkot. A distinguished team of judges, comprising actresses Adaa Khan and Helly Shah as special guests, Monica Bahl, CEO of the Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council, and Yianni Tsapatori, Creative Director-Hair, Godrej Professional, selected the winners.
Through the Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council (B&WSSC), an Awarding Body of the National Council for Vocational Education & Training (NCVET) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Laltlan and 29 other shortlisted hairstylists completed the “Recognition of Prior Learning” certification program through Spotlight.
