What inspired you to combine outfits with accessories in your clothing brand?
The inspiration for integrating outfits with accessories stemmed from my experience running Revé, a high-end clothing brand in Ahmedabad for 15 years. I observed that our top-tier clients desired a complete look, moving away from the traditional practice of pulling out gold jewellery for special occasions. Today, they seek the right fashion accessories to complement their smart Revé outfits. The significance of elements like hair, shoes, bags, necklaces, and earrings has always been prominent in Hollywood and Bollywood. As customers increasingly follow these trends, there is a growing demand for high-end contemporary jewellery that pairs well with their outfits. Additionally, while conducting sessions at NIFT for artisan workshops, I recognised the richness of our textile and craft heritage and felt compelled to incorporate that into our offerings.
What motivated you to develop an organic wellness range?
My motivation to create an organic wellness range arose from my interactions with top models and celebrities, where I realised that skin health reflects one’s lifestyle choices. For instance, lack of sleep can lead to visible under-eye circles that makeup cannot fully conceal. This realisation highlighted the need for minimal chemical exposure on the skin, alongside healthy eating, exercise, and hydration. My admiration for Pondicherry’s Auroville organic products deepened my understanding of organic wellness. I concluded that without naturally glowing skin, even the most expensive clothing or jewellery fails to make an impact. Conversely, simple attire can shine if one’s skin radiates health. Unfortunately, many market products falsely claim to be organic, which inspired me to launch a genuine organic wellness line aimed at enhancing the beauty of elite women.
How do you ensure the authenticity of your dry fruits?
We ensure the authenticity of our dry fruits through our organic farm located near Panvel in Maharashtra, where we cultivate GI Zone Konkan’s renowned Haphus mangoes and cashews. I have shared live videos showcasing our genuine farming practices. Feedback from recipients of our products consistently highlights that they have never tasted such authentic mangoes and cashews before. This positive response led to numerous orders from both individuals and corporate clients. Our brand’s reputation assures clients that we prioritise quality over profit margins, appealing to those sensitive to food quality.
What distinguishes Revé from other brands?
Revé stands out primarily due to the quality of our dry fruits and wellness products, which are locally grown and support Indian agriculture. Additionally, we provide employment opportunities for Indian artisans by creating sustainable reusable gift hampers that customers appreciate and repurpose.
How do you manage product diversification within your brand?
Product diversification under a single brand or various brands under one parent company is a common strategy worldwide. By maintaining trust over 20 years with our loyal clients, we can expand our market segment with value-based products. All three ranges we offer cater to quality-sensitive consumers.
What sustainable practices does Revé implement?
At Revé’, I not only impart knowledge and training to National Award-winning artisans at NIFT but also provide ongoing support in business modelling, break-even analysis, design development, and marketing their finished products under my guidance.
What is your vision for the future?
Given that India is home to a young population, including Millennials and Gen Zs, there exists significant market potential among high-income professionals as well. The global trend is shifting towards organic eating and wellness, with consumers increasingly seeking trusted sources for their purchases.
