Prada is back with one of its favourite concepts: the Prada Caffé, nine years after the brand debuted its Pradasphere at Harrods, a temporary exhibition and café honouring the brand’s 100th anniversary.

Through the end of 2023, the fashion company will serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, light nibbles, and aperitivo in the opulent department store’s Caffé, which will open its doors on Friday.

The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, located close to the Cathedral and first opened in 1913, is home to Prada’s flagship store in Milan and served as the design inspiration for the inside. With black-and-white checkered carpeting that echoes the brand’s signature monochrome patterns and velvet sofas in the season’s pale green, Prada Caffè promises to deliver a taste of Milan to Knightsbridge. From these sofas, visitors can view the flower bas-reliefs that adorn the walls.

According to a statement from Harrods, all the dinnerware was chosen by Prada to fit the surroundings and is unique and special. It includes crystal glasses with the iconic Prada triangle symbol and pale-blue Japanese porcelain with a contrasting double black line.

Previous Prada pop-up shops at Harrods highlighted the brand’s history in the fields of architecture, art, film, and sports. To her list, Miuccia Prada can now add “culinary legend” to it.
