The Swiss luxury business plans to add an experienced member of the auto industry who worked on the transition to electric vehicles to its board of directors and has promoted its chief sustainability officer.

Bérangère Ruchat, who began working for Richemont as the organization’s first chief sustainability officer last year, will now be a member of the senior executive committee. Richemont Chairman Johann Rupert said in a statement on Friday that her promotion will ensure sustainability goals are completely ingrained in the group’s strategic and operational decisions.

Additionally, the business has proposed Dutch CEO Bram Schot, who has more than 30 years of expertise in the luxury auto industry, for election to its board of directors. At Audi, Schot spearheaded the switch to electric vehicles after learning firsthand the difficulties in transforming long-established companies to meet sustainability objectives. Shareholder consent is required for Schot’s appointment.
