Anmako Launches SEISO Collection for Formal Occasions

The Singapore fashion label introduces occasion wear featuring Batik Tulis, natural dyes and modern takes on traditional silhouettes, priced from S$229 to S$899.

Singapore fashion label Anmako has introduced its SEISO Collection, a range of occasion wear for weddings, celebrations and formal events. The collection officially launched on 21 August 2026 and combines traditional textiles with contemporary designs.

SEISO takes its name from the Japanese term 「正装」, meaning “formal wear”. The collection responds to customer demand for clothing suited to weddings, anniversaries and other important occasions. It also expands Anmako’s existing range of everyday, holiday and formal wear.

The designs draw on heritage-inspired fabrics and silhouettes. At the same time, they adapt traditional elements for modern wardrobes, with pieces designed to remain relevant beyond a single season.

“The SEISO Collection elevates our signature designs and craftsmanship into a more refined collection created especially for formal and meaningful occasions,” said Eiko Sumantri, Director of Anmako.

Batik Tulis Takes Centre Stage

Batik Tulis is one of the key materials in the SEISO Collection. Anmako sources much of its batik fabric from Pekalongan and Cirebon in Indonesia. Many pieces are produced in limited quantities or as one-of-a-kind designs.

The range also features Batik Tulis Prada, which includes gold detailing. In addition, SEISO marks the brand’s first collection to feature Natural Dye Batik Tulis.

This fabric uses plant-based dyes to create softer shades, including smoky green and blue. These colours appear in the Batik Tulis Natural Dye Dress. They offer a more subtle look than the brighter shades found in some of the collection’s cotton-and-silk Batik Tulis pieces.

Traditional Silhouettes with a Modern Touch

The collection reworks traditional garment styles to suit contemporary needs.

The Sarong Skirt, for example, takes inspiration from the traditional sarong. However, it features a back zip instead of a wrap-and-tie design. This makes the skirt easier to wear while retaining the look of the original garment.

The Batik Tulis Cotton/Silk Cheongsam Dress combines a cheongsam silhouette with Batik Tulis fabric. Its cotton-and-silk blend adds a subtle sheen compared with pure cotton, making it suitable for formal occasions.

Another option is the White/Gold Lace Dress. Unlike many of Anmako’s existing designs, it uses neither batik nor Japanese fabric. Instead, its clean silhouette and gold detailing offer a different look within the collection.

Most pieces in the SEISO Collection are one of a kind, giving customers access to distinctive occasion wear.

Occasion Wear for Important Moments

Anmako designed SEISO for a range of formal and special occasions. These include weddings, graduation ceremonies, conferences, important meetings and festive celebrations.

The collection also focuses on versatile designs that can be worn beyond a single event. Through SEISO, the label continues to bring traditional textiles and garment influences into contemporary fashion.

“We developed SEISO in response to customers looking for distinctive occasion wear pieces for weddings, anniversaries and other special occasions,” said Eiko. “It gave us an opportunity to bring the fabrics and craftsmanship associated with Anmako into a collection created specifically for these moments.”

Availability and Pricing

The SEISO Collection is available at Anmako’s store on Level 3 of Takashimaya in Singapore and through the brand’s online store. Prices range from S$229 to S$899.

The collection will remain available throughout the rest of 2026 and through the Chinese New Year period in 2027.
