Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav closed Ethnix by Raymond’s Wedding Stories showcase at Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). Held at Taj Palace, New Delhi, the show celebrated Indian craftsmanship and modern menswear for weddings and special occasions.
Suryakumar wore a look inspired by Indian chintz florals. The ensemble featured multicoloured Gresham embroidery, a long jacket and relaxed-fit trousers. Together, these elements blended traditional craftsmanship with contemporary styling.
The showcase also featured a live musical performance by Twin Strings. The group combined Bollywood classics with international electronic sounds, Afro house and contemporary pop. Additionally, the performance included a Raymond tune, creating an energetic soundtrack for the runway.
Six content creators also walked the runway: Aayush Yadav, Rahul Verma, Kunal Tomar, Manmeet Singh, Giri Sawalkar and Isshan Thakur. Their participation added a creator-led element to the presentation.
Suryakumar Yadav commented, “Fashion has always been another way for me to express my personality. It was exciting for me to walk today for Ethnix by Raymond at Lakmē Fashion Week. ‘Wedding Stories’ brings together the richness of Indian craftsmanship with a contemporary sense of style, and I enjoyed celebrating their version of the modern Indian man through fashion.”
Vipul Mathur, Chief Business Officer, Ethnix by Raymond, said, “At Raymond, we believe ethnicwear is evolving beyond traditional occasions into a powerful expression of personal identity for the modern Indian man. With Wedding Stories, we bring together heritage craftsmanship and contemporary Indo Western silhouettes to meet the changing aspirations of today’s consumer.”
Kalpana Singh, CMO, Raymond Lifestyle Limited, said, “Our partnership with Lakmē Fashion Week provides a platform to showcase the evolution of Indian menswear through modern tailoring, versatile silhouettes and rich heritage crafts. Having Suryakumar Yadav as our showstopper adds an exciting dimension to this narrative, as his confidence and individuality reflect the spirit of the contemporary Indian man.”
Ethnix by Raymond Presents Wedding Stories
The Wedding Stories collection explores contemporary Indian occasion wear through kurtas, bandhgalas, sherwanis and Indo-Western styles. It also includes shirts, suits and tuxedos, offering options for different wedding events and celebrations.
The designs draw inspiration from Indian printing, dyeing, embroidery and weaving traditions. Regional influences such as Warli art, Rajasthani miniatures and Jaipuri jharokhas also shape the collection’s visual language.
Meanwhile, the fabric selection includes cotton, silk and linen blends, along with Jacquards, brocades, velvet and Jamawar. Floral Jacquards, placement prints and Jaipur-inspired block prints add pattern and character. In addition, embroidery and subtle lurex details bring texture and a refined sheen to the garments.
Layered forms and asymmetric designs further define the collection. The balance of structured fits and fluid silhouettes offers versatile choices for modern grooms and wedding guests alike.
Through Wedding Stories, Ethnix by Raymond highlights how Indian textile traditions can evolve through contemporary design. The showcase also brought together fashion, music, cricket and creator culture to reflect changing preferences in men’s wedding and occasion wear.
Ethnix by Raymond presented Wedding Stories on October 18, 2026, at Taj Palace, New Delhi, as part of Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI, with Suryakumar Yadav as the showstopper.
