The Redress Design Award 2026 has officially announced its semi-finalists, recognising emerging sustainable fashion designers from around the world for their innovative and circular design approaches.

This year’s selected semi-finalists are Alexandra Burch (UK), Amanda Gabriella Handojo (Indonesia), Christabell Bellini (Indonesia), David Schuch (Austria), Elizabeth DeWald (USA), Gil Justin Salazar (Philippines), Holly Shih (UK), Issac Tong (Hong Kong), Jasmine Cheuk (Hong Kong), Jon Liesenfeld (Germany), Miia Keskitalo (Finland), Mohamad Anas (India), Qiyu Li (Chinese Mainland), Sofiya Petryna (Italy), Tal Zohar (Israel), and Yi Ding (Chinese Mainland).

The competition attracted entries from 59 regions worldwide, including its first-ever applicant from the Syrian Arab Republic, reflecting the growing global engagement with sustainable fashion and circular design practices.

The next stage of the competition will see an international judging panel select eight finalists, who will travel to Hong Kong in September 2026 for an educational experience and the opportunity to present their sustainable collections on the runway at CENTRESTAGE during Hong Kong Fashion Fest.

The judging panel includes fashion activist and author Orsola de Castro, Dr. Christina Dean, Founder and Board Chair of Redress, Rod Henderson, President of TAL Apparel Ltd, and Angus Tsui, Creative Director of ANGUS TSUI and award-winning Redress Design Award alumnus.

The initiative continues to address the growing urgency surrounding textile waste, which is projected to rise by 60% between 2015 and 2030. Supported by Lead Sponsor, the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the programme aims to educate and empower designers to create more responsible and less wasteful fashion systems.

All semi-finalists will also become part of the Redress Alumni Network, a global community of more than 350 designers from 40 countries that supports sustainable fashion careers through collaborations, mentorship, and media opportunities. Previous alumni have gone on to dress international celebrities including Lady Gaga, Heidi Klum, Taylor Swift, and Sunmi.
