Filo66 Closes with Strong Visitor Numbers and International Participation

The 66th edition of Filo, the International Yarns and Fibres Exhibition, has concluded in Milan with strong visitor numbers and a positive response from exhibitors and international buyers.

The exhibition showcased yarn and fibre collections focused on style, innovation and research, with the consistent visitor flow highlighting continued interest in high-quality textile solutions.

Filo and Lineapelle Strengthen Supply Chain Connections

Filo66 once again took place alongside Lineapelle, the international exhibition covering leather, accessories, components, synthetics, fabrics and designs for footwear, leather goods, apparel and home furnishings.

The co-location enabled two interconnected fashion supply chains to present their offerings to international markets within an integrated exhibition environment.

Internationalisation remained a key focus for Filo, particularly in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises seeking access to overseas markets.

Through its collaboration with ITA, the Agency for the Promotion and Internationalization of Italian Enterprises Abroad, and the Piedmont Region, Filo has continued to expand its international reach.

The partnership with ITA brought a delegation of 20 buyers from France, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Turkey and India to the exhibition.

Filo’s collaboration with the Piedmont Region, developed through the Piedmont Region’s Integrated ‘Textile’ Supply Chain Project and supported by the 2021–2027 ERDF Operational Programme, also led to the organisation of the ‘Buyers’ Days’.

The initiative was implemented through Ceipiemonte, the agency responsible for internationalisation and attracting investment to Piedmont, and included a significant delegation from the United Kingdom, a market with a long-established textile tradition and strong relevance for Italian companies.

Sustainability and Supply Chain Collaboration

Sustainability continued to be an important part of Filo’s programme. The exhibition has been collaborating with C.L.A.S.S., including through sponsorship of the InsideOut by C.L.A.S.S. project.

The initiative highlights the values, choices and supply chain activities behind the development of a new generation of clothing, with the aim of promoting greater awareness, responsibility and integrated quality across the textile sector.

At the close of Filo66, Paolo Monfermoso, Head of Filo, said: “The 66th edition of Filo is closing positively. Buyers’s flow has been high and of a high calibre, whilst the number of exhibitors remained in line with February’s edition. On the eve of the event, this outcome wasn’t taken for granted, due to the current geopolitical crisis and the resulting economic downturn. The positive results of Filo66 naturally reflect the high quality and innovative capacity of exhibitors, as well as a supply chain, which remains strong and cohesive. We discussed the supply chain at length during the two days of Filo66, both at the Opening Ceremony and during the ‘Dialoghi di Confronto’. It is a central theme because many of the challenges facing the textile sector can only be tackled from a supply-chain perspective, especially regarding traceability and sustainability. A high-quality, strong and cohesive supply chain also enables us to tackle foreign markets more effectively: supporting companies in their internationalisation efforts is one of the Filo’s tasks, carried out in collaboration with ITA and the Piedmont Region. I am therefore particularly pleased that Matteo Masini, the Agency’s Director of Consumer Goods, wished to highlight Filo’s growth in recent years.”

Trends Area and Made in Filo

Filo also introduced several adjustments to its exhibition layout for the 66th edition, including changes to the Trends Area.

Monfermoso also adds that: “For the 66th edition, we have made a few minor adjustments to the Trends Area to improve collections’ showcase, putting yarns’ displays for weaving alongside those for knitwear: this gives visitors an immediate overview of companies’ product ranges. We have also enlarged the space and renovated the layout dedicated to ‘Made in Filo’, the fabric collection entirely conceived and produced by Filo, which is enjoying growing success thanks to the many textile ideas and solutions it offers. In conclusion, I would like once again to thank everyone who contributed to the success of Filo66: companies, buyers, Lineapelle and its CEO, Fulvia Bacchi, the institutions that support us, first and foremost ITA and the Piedmont Region with Ceipiemonte, the speakers of the Opening Ceremony and the ‘Dialoghi di Confronto’, and the partner companies for their invaluable contribution to carry out ‘Made in Filo’, in particular Tessitura Zanello and Ricamificio Vanoni. I look forward to seeing you all at Filo67 in February 2027.”

The Made in Filo fabric collection, conceived and produced by Filo, has continued to gain attention for its textile concepts and solutions. The exhibition also acknowledged the contribution of its partner companies, including Tessitura Zanello and Ricamificio Vanoni.

Filo extended its thanks to the sponsors supporting the exhibition, including Lauretana, Menabrea, Sellmat and Pasticceria Massera.

Filo67 Scheduled for February 2027

The next edition of Filo is scheduled for 23 and 24 February 2027 at Fiera Milano, Rho.

The upcoming edition is expected to continue Filo’s focus on textile innovation, international business development, sustainability and stronger collaboration across the textile supply chain.
