V V. Exports Universal Pvt. Ltd. presents Echoes of Bombay – One Stitch at a Time, an embroidered art exhibition designed by Kailash Poojary, Founder and CEO of V V. Exports Universal Pvt. Ltd. The showcase will be held at 47-A, Khotachi Wadi, Girgaum, Mumbai, from February 13 to March 15.
Created over the span of a year, Echoes of Bombay features a series of hand-embroidered artworks that reflect the city’s architectural heritage, cultural memory, and evolving urban identity. Developed through detailed research and careful observation, each piece highlights embroidery as both an expressive art form and a method of visual documentation.
The exhibition charts Bombay’s transformation, beginning with Map of Old Mumbai – The Seven Islands and progressing through historic landmarks such as Kala Ghoda, Dhobi Ghat, the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Rajabai Tower, Mumba Devi, Bhendi Bazaar, Flora Fountain, Regal Circle with the Gateway of India, CST, the BMC Building, and Ballard Pier. The concluding work, Skyline of Bombay – By the Artist, brings together the city’s most recognisable structures in a reimagined composition shaped by memory rather than geography.
Established in 2004, V V. Exports has grown into an internationally recognised embroidery atelier under Kailash Poojary’s leadership, known for its precision craftsmanship and long-standing collaborations in fashion and design. The exhibition is hosted at 47-A, a dedicated space for art, craft, and design, set within a 19th-century Portuguese-style residence in one of Mumbai’s original villages.
