Heimtextil 2026 begins the new season with 3,000 exhibitors from 66 countries. The world’s leading trade fair for home and contract textiles maintains market stability while expanding its international reach. A redesigned hall layout improves visibility and connects buyers and suppliers more efficiently.
A Global Platform for Future-Focused Business
Heimtextil brings together textile and non-textile interior solutions under one roof. The product spectrum includes decorative and upholstery fabrics, bed linen, terry towelling, wallpaper, and carpets. As economic and geopolitical shifts reshape global markets, the fair offers clarity, knowledge, and direction for the textile industry.
According to Messe Frankfurt, Heimtextil continues to serve as a strategic business hub. It highlights new growth opportunities and demonstrates how artificial intelligence is transforming textile and interior design business models.
Patricia Urquiola Explores AI and Materials of Tomorrow
At the opening press conference, architect and designer Patricia Urquiola unveiled her immersive installation titled among-all. Developed exclusively for Heimtextil, the installation explores future living spaces through AI-driven interaction, regenerated nylon, textile waste, and bio-based materials.
Speaking alongside Rosa Bertoli, Global Design Director of Wallpaper magazine, Urquiola highlighted how textiles act as intelligent, transformative materials. Visitors actively shape the installation, as their movements influence the space through AI-enabled design.
New Hall Layout Enhances Visitor Experience
The updated hall structure spans 17 levels and improves navigation across key segments. Textile and non-textile interior design solutions are clustered in Halls 3.0, 3.1, and 4.1. Bed, Bath & Living occupies Halls 5.0, 5.1, 6.0, and 6.1, positioned close to Smart Bedding in Hall 4.0.
The Sleep & Meet area in Hall 4.0 serves as the new central hub for the mattress and sleep industry. Leading brands and the German Mattress Industry Association are represented here.
Knowledge Exchange Takes Centre Stage
Visitors can access expert insights at the Texpertise Stage in Hall 6.0, the Talk Spot in Hall 3.1, and the Future Floor Talk Spot in Hall 12.0. Sessions cover interior design, hospitality, contract textiles, AI, and flooring innovations. Industry experts, including Patricia Urquiola and AI visionary Tim Fu, lead key discussions.
Carpets & Rugs Segment Expands Further
The Carpets & Rugs segment now spans four hall levels. It features machine-made, hand-woven, and bespoke carpet collections. For the first time, the segment also includes non-textile floor coverings.
Another major highlight is Heimtextil Trends 26/27 in Hall 6.1. Curated by Alcova, the Trend Arena showcases how AI and craftsmanship work together under the theme Craft is a Verb.
Heimtextil 2026 runs from 13 to 16 January 2026 in Frankfurt.
