The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) inaugurated its 81st National Garment Fair (NGF) – Women’s and Men’s Wear edition – with an enthusiastic response from the retail industry. Held from July 14–16 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, the fair is a major sourcing platform, drawing more than 20,000 buyers and showcasing 800+ apparel brands and 40+ accessory labels across 37,000 sqm.

Inaugurated by top retail leaders from across India, the event underlines CMAI’s central role in uniting the garment ecosystem. Retailers like Mrunal Bankapur of BS Channabasappa & Sons and Kiran Vora of Asopalav praised NGF for consistently serving as a one-stop destination for product discovery and vendor networking.

CMAI President Santosh Katariya highlighted the US$146 billion projected size of India’s apparel market by 2029, driven by rising incomes, aspirational buying, and digital adoption. With stalls sold out early and a growing waitlist, this edition reflects booming demand in both men’s and women’s segments.

Leaders like Rohit Munjal and Anand Chokshi noted how innovation, personalization, and sustainability are shaping next-gen Indian fashion. The fair is also witnessing greater interest from Tier-2 markets and buyers seeking culturally relevant yet modern collections.

NGF remains a vital meeting ground for manufacturers, retailers, designers, and buyers — helping them decode trends and expand business opportunities before the festive season surge.
