Aarti Vijay Gupta and Liva Reviva Champion Sustainable Heritage at London Fashion Week FW’25
Designer Aarti Vijay Gupta turned heads at London Fashion Week FW’25 with Kalighat Stories—a deeply rooted yet modern collection created in collaboration with Liva Reviva. Marrying traditional Indian art with contemporary silhouettes, Gupta showcased the possibilities of eco-conscious luxury on a global platform.
Crafted using Liva Reviva—an innovative fabric made from up to 30% recycled textile waste and FSC-certified wood pulp—the collection embodied a seamless fusion of sustainability, comfort, and fluid design.
Gupta collaborated with artisans from West Bengal, bringing the vibrancy of Kalighat and Patua art to life with intricate prints and storytelling motifs. The show featured 35 looks across menswear and womenswear, with earthy tones, hand-painted elements, and flowing drapes emphasizing the fabric’s versatility.
Mr. Sree Charan, VP Marketing, Global Head – Brands, Birla Cellulose, expressed pride in the partnership, highlighting it as a testament to “responsible fashion that doesn’t compromise creativity.”
Gupta added, “By spotlighting traditional artists through a sustainable medium, we not only preserve cultural legacies but also reshape fashion’s future with purpose.”
This collection further cements Liva’s role in promoting mindful innovation and elevating Indian craft on the global fashion stage.
