The only global sourcing platform of its type, Source Home & Gift, will be held at NEC Birmingham from September 1st to 4th, 2024. It has highlighted social enterprises that enable small artisan craftsmen worldwide to showcase their distinctive skills.
The September exhibition will feature social enterprises that support regional communities and artisans, as well as a new ‘Makers’ section that will provide a special area for artisan manufacturers. Supporting small-scale artists worldwide, with an emphasis on developing nations, is one of Source Home & Gift’s distinctive offerings.
The goal of Sumaq Qara is to assist Peruvian women who have been victims of domestic abuse and terrorism. They use natural wools and fibers to create a broad range of knit, embroidered, crocheted, and macramé items. Founded in 2006, Sumaq Qara—which translates to “Beautiful Leather” in Quechua—aims to assist over 500 women who suffered from psychological and physical assault during the terrorist period.
The mission of Claybotik is to bring back the fading craft of stoneware pottery by giving local artists a job creating handcrafted ceramics with modern patterns derived on traditional Indian themes. Based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, Claybotik honors the oldest and most popular form of ceramic art and is fervently committed to uplift the artisan community. Zero-waste production together with reduction, reuse, and recycling are also highlighted in the business model. “Zero waste also helps to examine the life cycle of a product or material,” claims Claybotik.
Beyond Borders Fair Trade, also known as Extol Accessories, has been fostering and working with Haitian artists in Croix-des-Bouquets for fifteen years, enabling genuine economic improvement and better lives through the creation and sharing of their exquisite art. The organization currently works with one hundred artists in Haiti. The amazing talent and handcrafted items of the artist will be on display at Source Home & Gift as they present a preview of new ideas.

All exhibitors at Source Home & Gift are required to have a recent audit from Sedex or a recognisable audit institution giving buyers the confidence that they will meet suppliers that have responsible business practices, and the teamwork with governments and agencies from across the world to bring best in class manufacturers.
