The pop singer revealed earlier this month that her new single will be released on July 11. Since then, a teaser video of her performing the song has gone viral. Perry sings, “Sexy confident, so intelligent, she is heaven sent.”
Some admirers believe the celebrity is coming to “save pop music,” while others think the song sounds like it belongs in a Target commercial. (There are always critics!) Perry, however, has been in Paris going out throughout the excitement for the release, making appearances at the couture shows and Vogue World. The singer made her public debut today sporting her most daring City of Light ensemble to date—a scarlet dress with an endless train printed with her own lyrics.
Call it a promo that is on-trend: Perry appeared on the scene wearing a red Balenciaga one-shoulder minidress with the song “Woman’s World” emblazoned on it. The outfit, a customized take of a dress from the brand’s pre-fall 2024 collection, included an incredibly lengthy train—more than 100 yards!—that seemed to go on forever. Even if it’s difficult to interpret the lyrics properly, we were able to decipher certain important terms like “celebrate,” “lucky,” and “Uh huh.” (We anticipate an energetic tune based on this blend.) Fans were urged to enjoy the poetic preview as Perry walked up the stairs to her hotel by the cloth that followed her.
This unanticipated fashion moment is just another instance of Perry being true to herself. While other pop singers promote their new songs by going on chat programs or making TikToks, Perry chooses to wear her fandom on her sleeve. or, more accurately, her train of miles.
