With 4% of the worldwide textile and apparel market share, 2% GDP contribution, and over 45 million direct employment (making it the second largest employer in the nation), India is home to one of the greatest textile industries in the world. By 2030, the textile sector is expected to produce $250 billion worth of goods.

Over the past five years, the textile sector has experienced significant growth thanks to many central government initiatives centered around strengthening India’s position as a major manufacturer of textiles worldwide, in line with the 5F vision of “Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign.

” The textile industry has experienced significant transformation thanks to programs like the PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks Scheme, Kasturi Cotton Bharat Programme, National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM), SAMARTH, and Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Textiles. Taking inspiration from India’s audacious plans to export goods worth US$100 billion by 2030, Maharashtra has become a strong candidate to lead the nation’s textile sector.

With over 10% of all jobs in India and 10.4% of all textile and apparel manufacturing, we make a significant contribution to the country’s textile industry.
