Amsterdam’s digital fashion house, The Fabricant, has revealed its initiative to send a piece from their reimagined DEEP collection to the moon. This project focuses on art and space education while using the metaverse as a platform.
Teaming up with Bernard Foing, a former chief scientist at the European Space Agency (ESA), the venture aims to establish the MoonMars Museum. Foing, known for his extensive expertise and contributions to space projects, proposed the idea of showcasing art on the moon within a gallery-style setting. Scheduled for launch in August 2024, the museum will exhibit the artwork in this extraordinary exhibition. Additionally, the project plans to link evidence of the artwork’s lunar presence to an NFT contract closer to the launch.
The Fabricant’s plan involves creating three distinct versions of the artwork: a moon version, an interstellar version, and an earth version. This concept signifies a blend of cosmic and earthly elements, emphasizing the connection between different aspects of human experience through digital fashion and art.
Collectors of the DEEP collection will receive exclusive visuals and augmented reality wearables. The DEEP collection, available for purchase, includes AR face filters, showcasing The Fabricant’s dedication to adapting digital fashion into unique and accessible forms for enthusiasts.
