Poland Experiences 29% Surge in Prices for Swimwear, Averaging $14.7 per Unit

Poland Women Swimwear Import Price in June 2023

In June 2023, the women swimwear price stood at $14.7 per unit (CIF, Poland), surging by 29% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a noticeable expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 120% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $27,625 per thousand units. From January 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($31.2 per unit), while the price for France ($4.7 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Poland Women Swimwear Imports

In June 2023, approximately 85K units of women’s swimwear (excluding of knitted or crocheted textiles) were imported into Poland; declining by -24.4% against May 2023 figures. Overall, imports recorded a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when imports increased by 521% month-to-month. As a result, imports reached the peak of 287K units. From March 2023 to June 2023, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, women swimwear imports contracted slightly to $1.2M (IndexBox estimates) in June 2023. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a measured increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 with an increase of 469% month-to-month. As a result, imports reached the peak of $3.4M. From March 2023 to June 2023, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Poland Women Swimwear Imports by Country

France (34K units), Germany (22K units) and Spain (11K units) were the main suppliers of women swimwear imports to Poland, with a combined 78% share of total imports.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Spain (with a CAGR of +15.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($696K) constituted the largest supplier of women swimwear to Poland, comprising 56% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by France ($159K), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Spain, with a 7.9% share.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value from Germany stood at +3.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: France (-2.1% per month) and Spain (+13.8% per month).
