Shanghai, 8 August 2024. Cotton remains the most conventional and widely used natural fibre, favoured for its functional properties, such as high absorbency, strength, softness, and colour retention, which allow extensive end-uses[1]. Seeking opportunities in the dominant Asia-Pacific market, India – a major cotton producer – is once again set to make an impression at Yarn Expo Autumn, held from 27 to 29 August in Hall 8.2 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). With cotton also a strong focus for suppliers from other countries and regions, over 40 exhibitors will be in the India Pavilion, displaying their selected cotton, mélange, greige, fancy yarns, and more.
In August, the India Pavilion, which is organized by the esteemed Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL), will return to the exhibition with great might, towering over the more than 500 exhibitors representing 15 different nations and regions. Mr. Murali Balakrishna, Joint Director of The Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council, stated during the most recent Yarn Expo Spring event that “the effectiveness of Yarn Expo as a business platform and the attraction of the vast Chinese market is the reason for the continued attendance of Indian suppliers.” Especially for India’s well-known twisted cotton yarn, the country’s textile industry chain and competitive edge in terms of both quality and pricing have brought a lot of customers to our booth.
The 40 exhibitors in the India Pavilion, the largest group of exhibitors in ten years, will highlight their knowledge in a range of yarn and fiber categories. The range of products includes spandex yarn, mixed yarn, synthetic yarn, recycled yarn, organic / BCI yarn, pure cotton carding, pure cotton combing / compact spinning, viscose, and more. Highlighted exhibitors include:

Yarn Expo Autumn, CHIC, and PH Value will all take place at the same time as Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition. The four fairs will provide a single venue for the fiber and yarn, fashion, knitted garments, and clothing fabrics and accessories industries, allowing exhibitors and buyers to maximize their business potential through the resulting synergy.
